Judge sends man to prison for 4 years for sexting teen girl in Russell County

A Strasburg, Virginia man is headed to prison for four years after he was convicted on a child sex charge in Russell County.

The office of Commonwealth’s Attorney Zach Stoots reported on the sentencing of 52-year-old Ralph Junior Shoemaker which was higher than the regular discretionary guidelines.

State prosecutors said Shoemaker texted a 17-year-old girl to obtain videos and pictures of a sexual nature.
