Jonesborough man accused in domestic fight, firing a weapon near deputies

Russell Kern, 22, is facing charges in Washington County, Tennessee for aggravated domestic assault and firearm possession while intoxicated.

Deputies responded to a call at 1:30 am on Tuesday in Jonesborough and encountered Kern holding a handgun. He fired the gun near the deputies before fleeing into the woods. After a two-hour search, Kern was apprehended.

The victim reported that Kern had locked her out of the residence with a firearm, threatened her, and caused property damage. Kern faces additional charges of aggravated assault on a first responder. He is being held without bond and is scheduled to appear in court on December 2nd.
