Johnson City man arrested and charged with assault and drug violations

Johnson City Police arrested 38 year old Kenneth Benson, 38, of Johnson City and charged him with multiple offenses including aggravated assault, drug and handgun violations. Police responded to a disturbance on E. Main St. on March 21st. Officers discovered that Benson was under the influence of methamphetamine while being in possession of a firearm and he had threatened a victim. This led officers to discover narcotics and ammunition. Benson was arrested and transported to the Washington County Detention Center.
