JCPD: Church Hill man behind bars after assaulting girlfriend with knife at local motel

A Church Hill man is behind bars on felony charges after Johnson City Police say he assaulted his girlfriend with a knife. According to a police report, JCPD officers responded to a call at the Red Roof Inn, where they discovered that 51-year-old Bobby Wagner held a knife to his girlfriend’s face and neck, pulled her hair, and attempted to take her down to the ground.

The victim told police about the incident, and Wagner was arrested for domestic aggravated assault and transported to the Washington County Detention Center on a $5,000 bond.
