JC Schools name interim superintendent
Greg Wallace will serve as Johnson City Schools’ interim superintendent when Steve Barnett leaves the job in late January. Johnson City School Board members selected Wallace who is the system’s current supervisor of safety, mental health and transportation, over David Timbs, who is supervisor of secondary and instructional technology. The job will last until the end of the school year and Wallace will then return to his current role. He’ll also work with Barnett through January to get up to speed. The board hopes to appoint a permanent superintendent by the end of the current school year.
