Increase In Reports Of Lottery Scams In Commonwealth

If it sound too good to be true, it probably is. That’s the warning The Virginia Lottery is telling consumers of an increase in reports of new, fake lottery scams in the Commonwealth. Officials say there are many forms of the scams that include convincing intended victims they have won a large prize and might falsely indentifying themselves as being an official with Virginia Lottery. The scams also include attempting to have the victim pay a fee or taxes to collect a non existent prize.
