Greene County solid waste truck crashes, killing driver
The driver of a county solid waste truck was killed after a crash in Greeneville Monday morning. A crash report from the Greeneville Police Department said that officers were called to a crash around 9:22 a.m. near East Mckee St. and Winchester Dr. A Mack truck owned by Greene County Solid Waste was heading west on East Mckee St. when it went off the right side of the road, over corrected and then rolled onto its passenger side, before hitting a tree on the opposite side of the road. The road was reported to be wet and slippery at the time of the crash. T he driver, identified by police as Kenny Ricker, died as a result of the crash. He was transported to the Quillen College of Medicine for an autopsy.
