Governor trying to sell lawmakers on budget package for new stadium for NFL’s Titans
Governor Lee is trying to convince state lawmakers to sign off on a $517 million package that would help build a new stadium for the Tennessee Titans and fund remodeling at Nashville Speedway.
Lee wants $500 million to replace Nissan Stadium with a retractable roof stadium and the remainder would be allocated for a project spearheaded by Bristol Motor Speedway.
Based on the price tags of new football stadiums in Las Vegas and now Buffalo that are partially funded with taxpayer dollars, the cost for a Nashville dome would be more than $2 billion.
