Governor Tours Carter County Workforce Development Facility, Legislature Might Fund 20 Million Dollar Project
Tennessee Governor Bill Lee got a first hand look at a Carter County Workforce Development Center that he and the legislature may include in next years budget. Lee visited the Carter County Workforce development Center in Elizabethton Tuesday afternoon. The educational and skill training facility is seeking 20 million dollars in state funds to transform the center into a hub for Technical Education for Carter County students. The Governor concluded his visit by stopping at Unicoi County’s Jones and Church Farm, a locally owned vegetable and melon farm generating more than 2 million dollars a year in sales.
