Former SWVA Teacher Facing More Than 2000 Years In Prison, On Child Pornography Charges

A former Southwest Virginia school teacher, if convicted is facing a potential of more than 2 thousand years in prison on hundreds of child pornography charges including enticing a minor to perform pornography. 30 year old John Michael Sharpe, over the objection of the Commonwealth’s Attorney in Tazewell County was secured a ten thousand dollar bond after being indicted on 176 counts of charges relating to child pornography. According to a Press Release from Commonwealth’s Attorney, J Christopher Plaster, Sharpe, while teaching at an unnamed school broke the trust of the young girl he was charged to protect, by exploiting the young girl in 2022 on 27 counts of enticing her to perform pornography.
