Former Prosecutor lawsuit against Johnson City date postponed
A judge has postponed former federal prosecutor Kat Dahl’s wrongful termination lawsuit against Johnson City from mid-May to late October so she can have more time to rule on a dismissal motion. The May 14 date in the federal civil trial is now scheduled to start Oct. 22 at U.S. District Court in Knoxville and is expected to last 5 to 10 days. Dahl’s June 2022 federal civil lawsuit claims Johnson City violated the Tennessee Public Protection Act by allegedly firing her in retaliation for insisting the Johnson City Police Department investigate sexual assault allegations against Sean Williams. The city had filed motions in January to dismiss the case, claiming Dahl doesn’t the legal basis to bring the case to court.
