Forestry groups request feedback on proposed reconstruction of 17 miles of Creeper Trail pathways
The US Forest Service is asking for public input they will add to their planning for the reconstruction of 17 miles of the Virginia Creeper Trail this year.
The report said some portions of the Creeper will have to be rerouted or built as before, including trestles in Washington and Grayson counties. A favorite of local and national bikers and hikers, those miles were wiped off the trail due to the historic hurricane flooding in September.
The public comment period ends January 31st and the comment portal is available by clicking here.
Final plans for repair will be completed in April and construction will start in June, according to the agency.
