Five Injured During Eastman High Pressure Steamline Failure Monday Morning
Eastman Chemical Company media relations officials say five people received treatment from Eastman Medical and at Holston Valley Medical Center, Monday morning following what the company is calling a high pressure steamline failure. A loud boom could be heard followed by large plumes of steam seen rising from the Eastman Campus around 745, according to calls to our newsroom Monday. Eastman says the steamline failure occurred on the Northeast side of the Manufacturing site and resulted in vibrations causing the release of small debris that was seen in the immediate community near the site.
