ETSU women’s basketball game against Virginia University of Lynchburg canceled due to COVID-19

Officials with East Tennessee State University say the women’s basketball game against Virginia University of Lynchburg scheduled for Sunday has been canceled as a result of COVID-19. ETSU officials say Lynchburg’s athletic program ended the remainder of its 2021-2022 basketball season due to the pandemic.

Specific reasons for Lynchburg ending its basketball season due to COVID were not stated. The Bucs will play next at Mercer on January 6th, and after that on January 15th at the SoCon home opener against Chattanooga. ETSU’s statement can be found here.
