Domtar in Kingsport announces new treatment system

Domtar Paper Company announced Thursday an anaerobic digester treatment system will be installed at its Kingsport Packing Mill. The press release from Domtar said the initiative is a long-term solution to better manage and treat wastewater while reducing odors from the facility. Domtar plans to start construction on the new treatment system later this year. In December, Domtar secured $60 million in tax-exempt municipal bonds from the state to fund a portion of the project.
