Dickenson County flood recovery efforts underway

Recovery efforts are underway in Dickenson County after the major flooding over the weekend. Property assessments are currently underway as officials work to evaluate the full extent of the impact. Residents are asked to report any damages sustained on homes and property by calling the Dickenson County Administration Office. Agricultural Damage including livestock loss, property damage, or fence destruction—should report it to Dickenson County Extension Agent Brad Mullins. The county is also accepting donations of cleaning supplies, personal hygiene products, first aid supplies, baby items, bottled water, and non-perishable food and can be dropped off at the Dickenson Center for Education and Research in Clintwood Tuesday from 12-6pm or at the Haysi Town Hall.
