DEVELOPING: Police search for manslaughter suspect involved in police chase

US Marshals and various county deputies are searching for a driver who fired a gun multiple times at officers during a pursuit through several jurisdictions.

A Bristol, Virginia police report said Elihu Joseph Martin was initially spotted by officers on Interstate 81 in the Exit 7 area in a stolen truck. Two city officers pursued Martin through Washington County, Virginia and Sullivan County, Tennessee.

The report said Martin fired shots at the officers twice before they stopped the pursuit near Denton Valley Road.

The stolen pickup was found abandoned in Johnson County, Tennessee just before 11 a.m. Martin is charged with involuntary manslaughter and other felonies and is considered armed and dangerous.
