Court: Investigator testifed poisoning as cause of death of Johnson City toddlers
A criminal affidavit read aloud in Washington County court about the investigation of murder and child abuse suspect Jessica Chandler said two Johnson City children who died on Tuesday were likely poisoned.
An officer told the court that the toddlers, ages 1 and 4, did not have any visible injuries and had foam coming from their mouths and noses.
Chandler directly implicated herself in the crimes that occurred at their home on Omaha after she was interviewed following her hospital stay, the officer said. Chandler was assigned a public defender and the judge denied bond in the case.
The children were found in the home just after 2:30 am Tuesday morning. Chandler had left three notes behind confessing to the murders.
Chandler is scheduled to return to court for her preliminary hearing on November 12.
