Congresswoman Harshbarger’s office sees protesters

Around 30 protesters showed up in Kingsport at Republican Congresswoman Diana Harshbarger’s office. Many were upset that they didn’t get an in-person meeting with the congresswoman or at least a staffer. Some protesters had thought they made an appointment for her and other protesters but was turned away at the door and were given a form to express their concerns. Signs held by protesters showed support for fired federal workers and objected to cuts that affect veterans and Medicaid. The protesters said Harshbarger supports those cuts but is misguided about how many of her constituents actually do. Organizers say this isn’t the last protest they have planned.
