Coeburn Virginia shooting under investigation

The Coeburn Police Department with help from the Virginia State Police and Wise County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting that happened Saturday night on Front Street. According to the Wise County Sheriff’s Office, just before 11pm, officers found a person in the roadway with a gunshot wound to his head. The victim was stabilized and transported to the hospital. No arrests have been made and the investigation continues . The sheriff’s office said there is currently no reason to believe that the public is in immediate danger. Anyone with information regarding the incident is asked to contact the Wise County Sheriff’s Office.
