City police open investigation after threat for Virginia High posted online
Students at Virginia High School in Bristol had their backpacks and other belongings searched by police officers after a threat was posted on social media early Wednesday.
City police have opened an investigation into the post and who created it. A school system statement said several parents came to the campus and signed their children out for the day while others were gathered in the gymnasium until security sweeps were made.
Virginia High will operate on a regular schedule Thursday and additional officers will be posted around the school.
