Carter County Sheriff’s Office charges man with firing gun into occupied garage

The Carter County Sheriff’s Office says a man accused of shooting into a garage is facing multiple charges. 43 year old Douglas Allen Gibson was identified and questioned about a shooting that occurred at home on Sims Hill Road Thursday. During the investigation, deputies discovered a bullet hole in the garage door and another in a truck window, as well as a handgun and rifle. He was charged with two counts of aggravated assault, two counts of felony reckless endangerment, and being a convicted felon in possession of a handgun. He was taken to the Carter County Detention Center where he is being held without bond, pending arraignment.
