Carter County man charged with child sex crimes due in court in June

A man who was charged with child sex crimes last year in Carter County is due in court on June 30th. 20-year-old Elijah Jack Hartley was charged with three counts of child rape, three counts of especially aggravated exploitation of a minor, and three counts of aggravated sexual exploitation of a minor. Hartley was arrested on April 10, 2024 and has been free since posting a $250,000 bond on May 10, 2024. According to an affidavit, the charges were filed following an investigation after child pornography was discovered on a cellphone in February 2024.
