Carter County Finances In Disarray, According to State Comptroller’s Report

Carter County’s financial statements were in such disarray that auditors had to perform numerous, time consuming procedures to correct them. That’s according to an audit report from State Comptroller, Jason Mumpower. The annual audit includes a total of 11 findings of deficiencies, non compliance and material weaknesses in the county’s Finance Department. The report also discloses the Offices of the Solid Waste department and Director of Schools are currently being investigated. Mumpower says those findings will come from a separate report
