Carter County Detention Center passes yearly investigation
Carter County Sheriff Mike Fraley announced that The Carter County Detention Center has passed its yearly state inspection with zero deficiencies for the second year in a row. The Tennessee Corrections Institute conducted its annual surprise inspection of the facility on April 3. In 2022, the jail failed its initial inspection due to safety concerns that were caused by a shortage of staff. Since the 2022 inspection, the Carter County Detention Center has passed without any deficiencies.
