Buckland guilty of Shooting Norton police chief
A jury found James Buckland guilty in the shooting of Norton Police Chief James Lane. Buckland was found guilty Tuesday on all five counts he was facing, including attempted murder of a police officer. Lane was shot five times in the incident that happened on May 7, 2021. Chief Lane suffered five gunshot wounds to his arms and abdomen, and has since been on the road to recovery. Buckland’s sentencing hearing is scheduled for January 9th, 2024.
