Bristol man dead following motorcycle crash

Virginia State Police say a Bristol man has died following a motorcycle crash on Tuesday morning. According to a report, the crash happened on Campground Road near Island Road at around 7 AM.

A motorcycle was traveling North when it ran off the right side of the road and struck a fence. The driver, Jackie E. Mayo, 48, of Bristol, VA, died at the scene. VSP says he was wearing a helmet and the investigation is ongoing.
