Breaks Interstate Park to add new pool with grant

Breaks Interstate Park has received a $300,000 grant to add a new pool to its waterpark. The grant is coming from the Virginia Department of Energy’s Abandoned Mine Land Economic Revitalization project. The pool should increase the amount of visitors to the park. 12,000 people already visit the waterpark every season. The pool is expected to increase revenue by nearly $100,000 and create five to seven new seasonal jobs. The pool is scheduled to open on Memorial Day weekend.
