Boyd Sports approaching Bristol Tennessee to propose new baseball stadium

Baseball is back on the radar of Bristol, Tennessee.
A representative for Boyd Sports is scheduled to speak at Tuesday’s City Council work session and discuss constructing a new stadium with private and public dollars for the Bristol State Liners at Whitetop Creek Park.
The city spent $35,000 in 2015 on a feasibility study to examine a new potential home for the then-Bristol Pirates.
The report issued along with the council agenda said Appalachian League President Dan Moushon would be at the meeting for the discussion.
Boyd Sports, a company operated by current University of Tennessee President Randy Boyd, currently owns several Appalachian League teams and operates their stadiums.
