Board Selects One Of It Own To Fill Director Of Schools In Kingsport

The Kingsport Board of Education didn’t have to go far to select its next Director of Schools, no further than Dobyns-Bennett High School. The board chose Dobyns Bennett Principal, and acting interim Director of Schools Dr. Chris Hampton, from among six potential candidates to lead the school system’s more than 74 hundred students and teachers on Monday. Hampton has been serving as interim director of schools since last fall, following the retirement of Dr. Jeff Moorehouse.
