Bank building in Marion damaged by fire

A fire at a bank in Marion left the building damaged by smoke and water. Town of Marion spokesperson Ken Heath says crews with Marion Fire/EMS and Smyth County Public Safety were called to the fire at the main office of the Bank of Marion on Main Street shortly before noon on Tuesday. Crews located and extinguished the fire on the roof of the building. As of 2 p.m. Tuesday the fire had been contained but the bank building did suffer moderate smoke and water damage.
