Ballad Health Closing Sycamore Shoals ICU

Just a month after publicly commenting about the facility’s future, Ballad Health officials told ICU workers at Sycamore Shoals Hospital the unit would be closing June 4th. Ballad CEO Allen Levine said last week no layoffs would occur because of the closure and workers could also find employment at other facilities. The decision has raised concerns of city leaders, but Ballad says the decision is about improving care at the regional level.
