Atlanta fire agency veteran selected as next Kingsport Fire Chief

A high-ranking officer with the Atlanta Fire Rescue Department will be the new Fire Chief for the city of Kingsport.

An agency report said Jerry DeBerry, current Special Operations Chief with Atlanta, will come aboard as chief in the Model City on May 5th.

DeBerry has more than two decades of service on his Atlanta resume including stints as Lieutenant, Captain and Battalion Chief. DeBerry will replace Fire Chief Scott Boyd who will retire from Kingsport service after 36 years on duty.
