Appalachian State chancellor stepping down to focus on health
Appalachian State University Chancellor Sheri Everts is stepping down after 10 years in office. Her statement posted online says she has faced significant health problems recently and is leaving office to focus on her health.
The school in neighboring Boone, NC, achieved record enrollment and more than $500 million in capital projects under Everts’ direction.
ASU plans to name an interim chancellor on Friday to coincide with Everts’ last day.
