BWX Technologies to expand NETN operations

BWX Technologies, Inc., the parent company of Nuclear Fuel Services in Erwin, is expanding its operations in East Tennessee. The Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development announced Tuesday that BWXT Enrichment Technologies, LLC, a subsidiary of BWXT, was awarded a grant that will help establish a new facility in Oak Ridge. The new facility will manufacture centrifuge assemblies and will be located near Oak Ridge National Laboratory. The new facility will be housed on nearly 100 acres purchased by the company. The facility will bring an estimated 60 new jobs with the company planning to invest at least $45 million.
