Online collections for funeral costs of Sullivan East student exceed $6,000

Funds raised online to help with the funeral costs of Sullivan East High School student Lilly Jackson totaled more than $6,000 by Tuesday afternoon.

Services for the 17-year-old from Bristol, Tennessee killed in a two-car crash are scheduled for March 25th at Rooty Branch Church, according to the funeral home serving the family.

Sullivan East principal Andy Hare was emotional in his daily video review on social media.

“…And when one of ours hurts, we all hurt. To these families that are affected, our hearts are with you, our thoughts are with you, our prayers are with you, our effort is with you. We are here to serve,” Hare said in the Facebook update.

Another East student was injured in the crash.
