WCSO taze and arrest man after pursuit

A pursuit by the Washington County TN Sheriff’s Office led to the arrest of a man Tuesday. Deputies pursued the man through the Bumpus Cove and Little Germany communities. 47 year old, David Wayne Smith drove his vehicle into a field and exited the vehicle in the Robert Smith Road area. Smith was non-compliant and deputies had to use tasers to subdue him and secure a large knife. Smith was not seriously injured and was examined by EMS and then transported to the Washington County Detention Center. He is charged with resisting arrest, evading arrest, financial responsibility and driving on a suspended license.
