Weber City officers assaulted during traffic stop

Weber City Police Chief Donald Harding said two officers were reportedly assaulted Friday night during a traffic stop and arrest. Officers conducted a stop of a vehicle after it hit a guard rail. While making contact with the driver, the passenger assaulted the two officers as they attempted to make an arrest. The passenger, identified as River Richards, was charged with two counts of felony assault on law enforcement, public intoxication and resisting arrest. The driver, Troy Whitehead, was charged with felony DUI, felony driving on a revoked license and refusal. Both officers are reportedly OK.
