Two NETN companies file WARN notices about layoffs

Two companies just posted notices of layoffs affecting employees in Northeast Tennessee. According to one WARN notice, S&B Engineers and Contractors notified the state of a permanent layoff on March 28 that will affect 112 employees at the company’s Kingsport office. Another  WARN notice has FedEx announcing a permanent closure at its Highway 75 in Blountville location on March 31 and that will affect 88 employees. Both notices were posted last Wednesday. The Northeast Local Workforce Development Board’s rapid response team has been notified to coordinate services with the employers and affected employees.
