TEMA: “State of Emergency” declared for Winter storm
The Tennessee Emergency Management Agency declaring a state of emergency before a major snow event in the Volunteer State. As of Wednesday, the state was categorized under the Level 4 — Elevated, which is preparation for the likelihood of an emergency developing or worsening. At around 2 p.m. Thursday, TEMA and Governor Bill Lee announced the state would be back under a Level 3 — State of Emergency. This move exempts federal rules and regulations for limiting the hours of some commercial motor vehicle operators. TEMA encouraged residents to take the time now to prepare ahead of the expected storm across the state.
