FEMA to open document processing centers Wednesday

After the deadline passes for FEMA disaster assistance on Tuesday, document processing centers are scheduled to open in the area on Wednesday. FEMA Disaster Recovery Centers in Carter, Johnson, Unicoi, Washington and Cocke counties will close at 5 p.m. Tuesday. Document Processing Centers are scheduled to be open from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. Monday through Friday in Carter, Johnson and Unicoi Counties. The centers will be located at the Carter County Public Library in Elizabethton, the Tennessee National Guard Armory in Mountain City and at the National Guard Armory/Unicoi EOC in Erwin. FEMA says residents will be able to turn in documents and follow up on applications and appeals at the centers.
