VSP investigating 85 crashes caused by Winter Storm Blair
Virginia State Police reported investigating 85 crashes in Southwest Virginia during a three-and-a-half-hour period Sunday. VSP says that the increase in crashes is attributed to Winter Storm Blair and none were reported to have been fatal. The department recommends making sure to use your headlights for your own visibility, as well as helping other drivers to see you. Slowing your speed for more reaction time. Give yourself more distance between you and the car in front of you, do not tailgate. Use your seatbelt, and don’t leave home without an emergency kit. The department said a surplus of state troopers will monitor roads during the rest of the storm.
