Crews from Bristol VA/TN battle early morning fire at former VA Intermont

Crews in Bristol responded to a fire at the former Virginia Intermont College library at around 3:21 a.m. Wednesday. The Bristol, Virginia Fire Department responded and then requested assistance from the Bristol, Tennessee Fire Department. The building was still full of books and other combustibles from the former college, and the fire quickly burned through the basement to the first floor and into the second floor. It took several hours to extinguish the blaze. No injuries were reported. The fire is under investigation and being considered accidental. A cause has not been determined.
