Weber City fire crews battle fire at Stateline Tire

The Weber City Volunteer Fire Department responded to an 3 a.m. Monday morning fire at Stateline Tire, closing north and southbound lanes of Highway 23. Weber City VFD officials are asking All businesses and homes between Stateline Tire (North, 750 US-23) and Priceless Foods (969 US Hwy 23 S) in Weber City to turn off HVAC systems and AC units and also close windows due to heavy smoke. Department Chief Bruce Cross said the heavy smoke poses a potential health hazard. The latest update from officials now say the northbound lanes remain closed, but the southbound lanes have reopened. Officials say they will let those in the affected area when they can begin using their HVAC again.
