WCSO assists Ohio agency in arrest of child rape suspect

Washington County TN Sheriff’s Deputies arrested 31 year old Charles E. Marteney on warrants from Muskingum County, Ohio, that charged him with three counts of Rape of a Child and multiple other related charges. Washington County Sheriff’s Office has been assisting the Muskingum County Sheriff’s Office with an investigation involving allegations of a child rape. The joint investigation began when it was discovered that the suspect resided in Washington County.  Investigators from Ohio obtained warrants on Marteney, who resides on Muddy Fork Road. Deputies then responded to the address and took Marteney into custody. Marteney is charged in Washington County as a Fugitive from Justice. He is being held without bond in the Washington County Detention Center and will appear in General Sessions Court on October 30 to begin the extradition proceedings.
