TDOT set to complete Broad Street bridge inspection in Elizabethton

The Tennessee Department of Transportation says it hopes to complete its analysis of the closed Broad Street bridge in Elizabethton this week. A spokesperson for TDOT said crews are planning to finish the structural analysis this week, and then decide the next steps to take. TDOT also providing an update on I-26 from Erwin to the NC state line, saying they are planning on open one lane in each direction within the next two to three weeks.  TDOT says crews continue to re-paving portions of the interstate that were damaged by floodwaters from hurricane Helene. TDOT says they will continue updates on the progress.
