Bristol landfill remediation money still expected in VA state budget
Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin remains committed when it comes to addressing remediation efforts at the Bristol, Virginia landfill. Remediation costs for the landfill have been estimated at roughly $60 million. When asked if the city should still expect the $26 million of allocated funds to help offset growing costs as budget negotiations drag on in Richmond, Gov. Youngkins response was, “Absolutely”. According to Del. Israel O’Quinn, allocating funding towards remediation efforts for the landfill has been a focus for the Southwest Virginia Delegation.
