Elizabethton/Carter County Animal Shelter receives $10,000 donation

Friends of the Elizabethton/Carter County Animal Shelter were donated $10,000 to help get them closer to their goal of opening a low-cost spay/neuter clinic. Residents not having affordable options to spay or neuter their animals has led to an increasing overpopulation of feral, stray and abandoned animals in Carter County. Friends of the Elizabethton/Carter County Animal Shelter hope that the clinic will make spaying and neutering pets easier and more affordable for animal owners in Carter County. The organization also hosts low-cost animal vaccine clinics throughout the year.
