Scott County man arrested after standoff Tuesday
A man was arrested after a standoff in Scott County, Virginia Tuesday. Officers responded to a 911 call. The caller, identified as 51 year old, David Kegley, told deputies someone was at the home to cause him physical harm. Deputies determined the allegations were false and obtained an emergency custody order for a mental health evaluation. Kegley refused to come out of the home and barricaded himself inside. Kegley was eventually taken into custody, released by mental health, not meeting the criteria for a temporary detention order, and was he taken to the Duffield Regional Jail without bail. A protective order and emergency substantial risk order under red flag laws were issued against Kegley.
