Kingsport Fire Department issues annual report

The Kingsport Fire Department recently issued its annual report, which gives a breakdown of the types and number of incidents firefighters responded to last year and how those numbers have changed since 2022. The report says the Department responded to more than 8,000 incidents during 2023, with a majority of the calls being medical related. Structure and vehicle fires were comparable to 2022 and no fire related deaths occurred within the city last year. The report also listed accomplishments for the department, including putting 2 new fire engines into service.
